LIFT (Living in Faith Together) 26th February

Good afternoon, and welcome to another list of online opportunities with a little bit of chat thrown in! I’m trialling a name for this weekly letter – what do you think?

The weeks seem to be flying by and we are now well and truly in Lent. Did you decide on a Lenten discipline? How is that going for you? Ten days on and I am managing mine. I was really heartened by the numbers of you who have, in addition to your own private disciplines, also been part of the online opportunities.

Below are the usual lists of services available during the coming week. If you haven’t tried something on this list but are considering it, I warmly encourage you to give it a go – you won’t know whether it’s for you if you don’t try it, you might be surprised! There’s no obligation to go again if it isn’t right either!

Finally, please can I ask for your prayers. On Wednesday 3rd March at 7pm there is a meeting with the bishop about our new Ministry Area structure. This will be a chance for Bishop Cherry to explain her vision and her hopes for our future, and for us all to hear answers to our questions. I know many of you have sent in questions and I am anticipating that this will be a lively and useful event. If you could pray for Bishop Cherry and the Diocesan Office and Officers who have been working so hard to begin to implement their exciting vision, and please also pray for all of us, yourself included, that we may listen with open hearts and minds, ready to accept change and work together in ways that will allow God’s love to show in every corner of every community.

I hope to see as many of you as are able at coffee on Sunday. Don’t forget, you don’t have to come to the service beforehand to join in with coffee, but let’s keep that between ourselves!

With love,

Sally xx–
