LiFT 25th November
Good evening friends,
How are you this evening?
It’s been another busy week with Advent and Christmas planning, plus a service to recognise the importance of standing against gender based violence. This campaign is in its tenth year, and is signified with a white ribbon. It runs for two weeks from today until Human Rights Day on 10th December. Please consider this something worthy of our prayers.
I have four dates for you – two things that aren’t happening and two that are!
Two services have been cancelled from our Sunday rota. These decisions have been taken because they fall close to other services that have been added for Christmas. When our smaller churches are run by a tiny number of people we have to use our energy wisely and I am fully supportive of our Christmas services taking priority.
Sunday 12th December 9.15am Llandegfedd is not happening. They do have a carol service on Friday 10th December at 6.30pm which will be very lovely.
Sunday 19th December 6pm Christchurch Coed y Paen Evensong is not happening. They have a carol service on Christmas Eve at 6pm which promises to be a lovely service too.
Please amend your rotas with these cancellations.
The two dates to add to your diary are the Darkness to Light Service this Sunday at 6pm. This is a deanery service (the new Ministry Area really) and will be very special. It is at St. Cadoc’s, Raglan, and I hope to see you there. There will be no Compline on Zoom that night.
Finally can I flag up the Christmas party that is planned for Friday 3rd December 7pm at the Memorial Hall in Usk. It is a bring and share with a quiz and entertainment. Who doesn’t love a bring and share? – a missing part of our church life over the last couple of years. If you would like a ticket please let Dee, in Usk, or me know.
And that, I think, is that!!
Keep warm and keep in touch.
