LiFT 17th March

Good evening my friends,

Another busy day draws to a close, so it’s time to write to you.

Things to tell you – we are hosting the Stations of the Cross in St. Mary’s church on Friday at 3pm. It would be lovely to see you there. It’s a service that encourages us to reflect upon the journey Christ made to the cross, and it is a wonderful opportunity to share worship with our Catholic friends. I commend it to you.

On Monday I will be having my first of three prayer days – the day looks like this – Monday 21st March –

10-12pm Wolvesnewton

12.30-2.30pm Usk

3-5pm Llantrisant (Sandy, please could you make sure the church is open?)

I will be sitting in the stillness, offering prayers for the time, specifically for the community around each church but will also be praying for our wider needs and concerns. You are very welcome to join me, I suggest you come with your own prayer ideas and resources, and you really don’t need to stay the whole time, just pop in for a few minutes if you would like to.

The remaining six churches will be prayed in over the coming weeks. I’ll keep you updated.

How is your Lent so far? I’m managing with my determination to not eat cake with my teas and coffees, despite several temptations, so that’s good, and I’m finding the words of our daily reflections extremely challenging. I trust you are finding them worthy of contemplation too?

And now I really must go and get some food! And perhaps a little glass of something.

Before I do that can I remind you of our Morning Prayer on Zoom on Mondays at 9am, link below, and Sunday 8pm Compline. It would be lovely to see you there.
With love,
Sally xxxxx
