LiFT 10th September

Good evening all,

How are things? It’s been another good week so far, and I don’t know about you but I’m very much looking forward to The Usk Show on Saturday. Our Ministry Area will be hosting the chaplaincy tent again, with good coffee, tea, and cake, all free. We offer a quieter place to sit and refresh, alone or with friends. We are situated right by the main arena, so pop in if you are at the show.

I have a couple of things to share with you this week.

First can I invite you to click this link – https://www.offline.wales/zines-exhibitions-and-news/?ref=newsletter

It will take you to a newsletter, the first article of which is of great interest to us all. It features Mark Saunders, who is probably known to some of you, as he worships across several of our churches. He has published a book featuring the porches of all the churches in our MA, and this link includes a wonderful 20 minute interview about the project and the thinking behind it. It’s rather special and Mark has captured something very beautiful about our churches and the spiritual importance of our buildings and their entrances.

Mark’s book is for sale, and I encourage you to listen to the interview. I’ve found it uplifting and a joyful pause in my day.

My other bit of news is to alert you to a half day we have on Saturday 17th October. We are delighted to invite you to a half day to reflect on the concept of pilgrimage. We will do this with Archdeacon Ian who will share with us his pilgrimage experience when he went to The Holy Land, and I will also be speaking about my pilgrimage “within” – how I came to faith. I’ve attached a poster that can be displayed in church and that gives you place and time information.

And now, it is time to shut down the computer and unwind ready for my rest day tomorrow.

Please be assured of my prayers and let me know if there is anything I can pray for.

With love,

Sally xxx
