LiFT 10th March
Good evening my friends,
How are you? I’m noticing that although the wind is biting like a winter wind, the evenings are drawing out and the daylight is lasting longer. Spring is on its way!
What a week! With grateful thanks to those who donated, we saw the first two van loads of stuff head off to Ukraine (via Chepstow and Bristol) this week. A handful of people have been working extremely hard over long hours and I am so grateful to them; you know who you are – thank you!
We still have a considerable amount of children’s clothing and bedding to send on its way. The avenue we were hoping to use is currently closed to new donations, so if you hear of anywhere accepting these items please can you let me know.
We are now well and truly in Lent, and I’ve not had any cake yet, despite several offers! How is your Lent going? I had the delight of a Quiet Day with the new Ministry team on Wednesday. Space to dwell in the presence of God, to listen to him and be reminded of my dreams and desires for our future. It was a day of great blessing. I wonder, do you manage to find time in your day to sit quietly with God and reflect on your direction and desires? I commend it to you – it is always worth the time and effort.
Can I just let you know about a couple of changes to my rest day – this week I will be working on Friday and off on Saturday to accommodate a governors’ meeting and a couple of other things. Then next week, I will be off on Wednesday not Friday so that I can go out and about with Llibby, my daughter, to celebrate her birthday. I do hope this doesn’t cause any inconvenience to you.
Finally, just a reminder that Stations of the Cross will be at the Catholic Church this week, and in St. Mary’s next week, both at 3pm.Oh and don’t forget Compline on Sunday evening, on Zoom. The link is below. You know where to find me if you need me.
